What is the primary purpose of the PRDA?
• Stimulate Community Economic Development (CED) in Pictou County
• Deliver CED by leveraging private, public and non-profit sector partnerships to resource and support initiatives.
• Provide expertise in project management, skills building and strategic planning to municipal, private and community-based projects.
Is the PRDA the voice of Pictou County?
• PRDA is one of 12 Regional Development Authorities (RDAs), a made-in- Nova Scotia model of CED that facilitates all three orders of government working together – Federal, Provincial and Municipal.
• We are an effective voice thanks to the broad-based representation we have at our Board table.
• Guided by principles of collaboration and inclusion, we see our role as a bridge to united leadership; bringing stakeholders together for common vision.
• Forward Together is the essence of what we do and the key to our success. It is our tagline and the title of the key economic development document we are responsible for stewarding.
